The Role: The Principal Research Analyst will be responsible for providing oil and gas industry expertise, working within the Cost & Technology team. Focus will be on the hydraulic fracturing market in North America primarily, with increasing exposure to a global outlook.

The Location: Houston

The Impact: Primary responsibility is to gather secondary and proprietary research to develop strategic research reports on the unconventional oil and gas supply chain landscape.

The Team: We are a small but nimble team, and the chosen candidate will have the opportunity for this position to translate into one with additional responsibilities.

What We're Looking For:
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the unconventional oil and gas industry value chain
  • Fluency in manipulating large Excel spreadsheets using pivot tables and logic statements
  • Ability to process large amounts of data and current events into a concise, professional, "gold-standard" client report on a quarterly basis
  • Must work closely with other colleagues to improve report consistency and depth of findings
  • Assist with business development activities as needed
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent team player with a sense of initiative
Qualifications:
  • MBA, M. Eng. or equivalent. A combination of quantitative skills and business acumen is preferable.
  • Additional training and experience in subjects such as Big Data, Python programming, or similar will be viewed highly positively.
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $150,00 . Base salary ranges may vary by experience and geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
