Position: Virtual Engagement Associate - Insured Solutions Sales Desk

The Morgan Stanley Virtual Engagement Associate role is a unique opportunity to prepare and develop the skillset for a career in the Wealth Management division of the financial services industry. Insured Solutions Sales Desk Virtual Engagement Associates will work in a centralized location to provide virtual support to Financial Advisors. They will focus primarily on generating operating leverage and faster growth through the consistent deployment of digital tools that disseminate relevant content and analyses to clients and prospects.

The Virtual Engagement Associate Program is a 2-year program that transitions into the Financial Advisor Associate (FAA) program. If preferred, there is the opportunity to move internally within the Firm if there are open roles and the employee is successful during the interview process. A transition to FAA or internally must take place at the end of the program; staying in the VEA role is not currently an option. Failure to adhere to Program requirements and/or one's inability to secure post-Program employment will result in separation from the Firm.

The VEA - Insured Solutions Sales Desk is responsible for teaming with senior members on the desk to help drive sales and marketing of the annuity and insurance product line to Financial Advisors. This individual will work in a dynamic internal-desk team environment. After product and communication training, and successful ongoing evaluations, the VEA - Insured Solutions Desk will work in tandem with senior members of the sales team. VEA - Insured Solutions Sales Desk will assist team members in sourcing and organizing opportunities within an Advisor's books of business. They will field inbound calls surrounding product questions and case design as well as escalate issues for resolution. Assist senior members in educating Financial Advisors on the unique capabilities of annuities and insurance as a solution to a complete financial plan. They will also work closely with Insurance Carrier Internal and External Wholesalers to coordinate and leverage their time and resources.

This person will report to the team managers and leverage Morgan Stanley's state-of-the-art financial tools on behalf of experienced Financial Advisors, helping them develop their business and increase client engagement. After completing the term of their role, successful associates will earn preferential status in transitioning to a sales role for example, or the three-year Financial Advisor Associate (FAA) program.

Job responsibilities:
  • Become a subject matter expert on all annuity and insurance products available through our platform
  • Field incoming calls from Financial Advisors and provide world-class level of service
  • Efficiency with data mining opportunities using various Morgan Stanley tools to uncover opportunities within an Advisors book of business
  • Learn carrier and MS systems to effectively research and service existing contracts
  • Develop and maintain insurance carrier relationships with Internal and External Wholesalers
  • Work closely with the senior sales member and sales desk manager to develop and implement effective territory strategies, including follow-up and prospecting calls
  • Proficiently deliver department's sales presentations
  • Partner with senior sales member and their counterpart, the ISD (Insured Solutions Director), to increase year-over-year annuity sales in territory
  • Make proactive outbound sales calls to Financial Advisors to promote annuities and provide actionable sales ideas
This role requires that all successful applicants be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment and provide proof of such vaccinations within 3 days of commencement of employment

Qualifications:

Job requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in Annuity & Insurance Industry or related industry preferred
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) required upon hire; Series 7 and Series 66 (or equivalent) required within 90 days of hire
  • State Life Insurance License preferred
  • Must hold a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years of financial services experience or related industry preferred
  • Detail oriented with an ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Capacity to meet daily number of touches
  • Able to multi-task and to shift resources
  • Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
