We are looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our growing Compliance Team at Connor, Clark & Lunn Investment Management. Compliance plays a critical role in our firm and in this position, you will have the opportunity to work with our Chief Compliance Officer, our Chief Investment Officer and the portfolio managers on our three investment teams. The role of compliance continues to evolve in complexity and importance and this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing team whose range of responsibilities continue to increase.

What You Will Do

The Compliance Analyst will have exposure to the firms’ key decision makers and have a broad range of responsibilities playing a critical role in monitoring and enhancing the firm’s compliance program. In this role, you will be reporting to the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. The main areas of focus include:

  • Monitoring compliance from an investment, regulatory and operational perspective
  • Participating in the ongoing review of the firm’s policies and procedures
  • Assisting with the firm’s internal and external operational and regulatory audits
  • Providing back-up coverage for other members of the Compliance Team
  • Compiling risk management reports for CC&L’s Investment Risk Management Committee
  • Assisting in the compliance review of marketing materials

What You Bring

  • A Passion for Compliance – You have 1-3 years of investment industry knowledge, experience, and you want to continue or move into a compliance role with the intention to develop your industry and compliance expertise. A CFA (or working towards a CFA designation) is an asset.
  • A Passion for Operational Excellence – You display a professional attitude where attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness are critical success factors in achieving your goals and objectives.
  • Critical Thinking – You possess an analytical mindset and like to solve problems.
  • Curiosity – You are inquisitive and are not afraid to ask questions.
  • Collaborative Communication – you have a collaborative spirit that helps you to work well with others while at the same time taking initiative to build on the existing best practice of the team
  • Organization – Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure, both individually and as part of a team, dealing with changes and interruptions while maintaining strict deadlines.
  • Technology – Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems and software. Charles River is an asset; MS Office, in particular advanced excel skills is required.
