We are hiring a Senior Reporting Data Analyst to improve, implement, update and support Columbia Threadneedle Investments enterprise data, including securities, accounts, positions, analytics, transactions/trades, and related parties used across reporting teams!
This role requires understanding of investment management data, the ability to learn data structure, act as domain specialist on data, and collaboration with business, technology, data owners and stewards on defining and using data to best meet business needs. The ideal candidate has balanced skills of business and technical knowledge, as well as a passion for analytic problem solving, strategic uses of data, customer service, continuous quality improvement, and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to assemble requirements for reporting needs, help with data-driven decision making, strive to get data from authoritative sources to reporting via enterprise data hub, data warehouses and data marts.
  • Generate and present Decision Analysis Recommendations (DARs) for business and technology partners decision-making
  • Work with business and technology partners to develop, test, and implement technology solutions for projects and business as usual (BAU) technology changes.
  • Review and approve technology design, testing, and implementations
  • Assist in resolving problems related to business or technology systems
  • Actively exploring data for specific use cases
  • Documenting calculations, code and adhering to data management principles and files
  • Actively facilitating discussions and meeting to identify data needs for reporting platforms
  • See opportunities for automation to more efficiently provide repeatable data extract ions to reduce manual effort and rework and decrease operational risk
  • Partner with Data Management team and Technology to build foundational solutions to reporting problems that ensure accuracy, ease of use and query performance.
  • Robust understanding of data structure and relational databases
  • Support business in resolving problems related to data


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or 5-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of investment products and securities
  • Ability to integrate data from multiple systems for consolidated reporting
  • Experience as key contributor in larger projects and leading smaller projects, including writing requirements, developing and carrying out test cases, and crafting implementation plans.
  • Experience in business process analysis and improvement
  • Good communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate to sophisticated skills in Microsoft Access and Excel development using Visual Basic for Applications
  • Tableau, reporting or other visualization tool experience.
  • SharePoint development experience.
  • Knowledge of Columbia Threadneedle Investments systems or data.
  • Data governance experience.
  • Data warehouse experience.
  • Knowledge of AWS
