The Role: Editor, Asia oil

The Team: The right candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic team player with a passion for market/news reporting. S&P Global Commodity Insights is a well-regarded source of expertise in the energy commodity markets. The global energy news team works closely together in what is a fast-paced environment, including real-time market coverage as well as longer term analysis. You'll report to the Oil News Manager in Singapore and work with other local news and market reporters/editors.

The Impact: You will maintain Platts' high journalistic standards, practices and policies, ensure our LNG coverage is ahead of competitors and advance our reputation as the commodity news provider of choice.

Responsibilities:
•Develop Oil Market Content
As a writer and editor, you will ensure that oil news from the Singapore energy news desk is timely, unique and relevant. You will be responsible for creating content and presenting it in a way that has maximum impact. You will monitor news flow from competitors, prioritize daily content and help conduct forward planning of event and story coverage. You will track a range of related sub-sectors like LNG shipping, downstream demand, upstream investment, gas derivatives, etc.
• Content Presentation
You will be required to think innovatively on how best to present the content to make it impactful and reader friendly. This could involve the use of infographics, maps, charts, tables etc.
• Content Generation
You will be required to collaborate with regional colleagues, market reporters and other members of the energy news team to generate and drive content. This could be in the form of further analysis of developing news and/or writing features.
• Market engagement
You would be expected to develop and maintain productive relationships with a broad base of key industry sources.

What We're Looking For: Relevant energy/commodities reporting experience. Strong English language editing, writing and reporting skills. Data analysis capabilities. Highly motivated, productive team player able to pivot quickly in response to a fast-evolving daily slate of stories.
