As a Barclays Treasury Climate Risk Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight of 3 Principal Risks, Liquidity risk, Capitol risk and Interest risk. This is a unique management role which sits at the intersection between Treasury Risk and Climate Risk. Developing insights into the climate change exposure of Treasury portfolios (Liquid Asset Buffer, Private Equity, Structural Hedges, Pensions etc.), as well as how climate change may impact our funding and liquidity profile.

What will you be doing?
• Horizon scanning - (Government and regulatory policy, industry and technology evolution, physical risk trends, litigation, business risk)
• Identifying climate change exposures within the treasury verticals and horizontals and develop monitoring/reporting capabilities for them
• Building out a Climate Change stress testing approach, including scenario design and assumptions
• Interlocking Treasury Investment Risk and Liquidity Risk to ensure consistency of risk capture and stress approach
• Producing and enhancing regular climate risk related reports
• Incorporating climate risk into Treasury Risk's risk appetite statement and limit framework
• Deep diving climate change exposed portfolios and risk concentrations and head the effort to mitigate them
• Ensuring the department remains on track with its Material Growth Initiative commitments

What we're looking for:
• Demonstrated interest in climate change and its impact on businesses and the wider economy
• Risk and/or sustainability background required, with experience as listed in the Role Purpose section
• Excellent analytical abilities
• Managing relationships and ability to interact with senior staff within the Bank

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Wider thinking - excellent awareness of business strategy and objectives
• Knowledge of Barclays Investment Banking activities including the Banking and Markets businesses
