About this role:

Markets Investment, Financing & Solutions (IFS) is a newly created group that works with exisiting coverage (in Banking and Capital Markets) to originate and source opportunities with our EMEA client base. It is responsible for underwriting, structuring and pricing the risk on these transactions and is a key element of the EMEA 5 year growth strategy and is targeting annual revenues of c.$300m+ by 2026.

Markets IFS consists of 3 public side businesses and 1 private side business;
  • Public-side: Investment products (structured note issuance on behalf of WF and its clients), Capital & Risk Solutions (providing derivatives solutions for our clients), Secured Funding and
  • Private-side: Asset Backed Structured Finance (ABSF).
The ABSF business comprioses of 2 LOBs;International Asset Backed Finance (I-ABS) and Corporate Debt Finance (CDF).
  • I-ABS I-ABF provides debt financing and warehouse facilities to banks and non-bank lenders, secured against their collateral portfolio, and acts as underwriter on their capital markets securitization transactions (RMBS and ABS).
  • Corporate Debt Finance provides capital to asset managers and other non-bank financial institutions through structured credit facilities and acts as underwriter on collateralized loan obligations.
This business manager role will be part of the EMEA COO team and will be responsible for supporting both the Asset Backed Structured Finance Businesses (I-ABF and CDF) ) as well as supporting the head of IFS transformation

In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the business unit and the various support partners; driving accountability across all internal functions supporting the businesses
  • Deliver the business vision and objectives to the various support groups and provide direction and leadership as needed
  • Execute projects and initiatives across the business unit
  • Support the business unit with operational excellence identifying ways to improve and implement business processes that drive efficiencies
  • Document all desk procedures and work with the business to prepare for any regulatory related items e.g. audits etc
  • Manage internal communications, senior level presentations, events, etc.
  • Manage administrative functions on behalf of the business unit
  • Handle on-boarding and off-boarding of team members, including space assignment, equipment, supplies, licensing, etc.
  • Liaise with Finance to ensure compliance with expense policies and create processes to drive expense efficiencies; AU structure
  • Liaise with WFS facilities team to manage the coordination, planning and execution of all equipment procurement, LAN and desktop support, moves, security access, etc.
  • Accomplish management responsibilities, which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
Required Qualifications:
  • University degree (ideally in a numerically based subject)
  • 7+ years of financial services industry experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience

Other Desired Qualifications:
  • Asset Back Finance experience within the Mortgage or Consumer Finance sector
  • Experience analyzing data, metric reporting and forecasting.
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with senior leaders, peers and key support partners
  • Ability to work creatively, analytically and independently in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative work environment
  • High degree of initiative and strong ability to meet key responsibilities with limited direction and oversight
