Investment Analyst - Fixed Income
This position assists in protecting and growing the SIC's permanent endowment funds for current and future generations, through prudent and professional investment management.
The position will support the Director of Fixed Income in researching and monitoring the fixed income markets and strategies, performing due diligence on managers, conducting portfolio and manager review and selection of new managers and investments. Position requires a significant degree of quantitative and qualitative analysis, monitoring and documentation of managers and investments within those portfolios.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in coordination with the Director of Fixed Income and at the direction and supervision of the Deputy State Investment Officer & Chief Investment Officer (DSIO/CIO) Analyze existing investments and managers and participate as a member of the Fixed Income Group (FIG); monitor, report and make recommendations on portfolios assigned to the group (eg, performance analysis, portfolio construction relative to policy and guidelines, advanced financial analysis, and contract compliance); perform directed studies and projects; monitor capital markets and provide expert analysis, opinion and recommendation; assist in the preparation of presentations, be available for consultation as needed. Research and source new managers, strategies, and investments in private and public fixed income markets by attending industry conferences, workshops; developing relationships with peers and industry professionals; working with general consultant; arranging meetings, correspondence, and other due diligence activities. Develop models to analyze and interpret market and manager data to contribute to high-quality investment decision making in the Fixed Income portfolio; source and manage data used in the modeling. Perform other, related duties, as assigned by the Group Director or DSIO.
