Job Description
To support the strategic objectives of the bank to attract and retain clients to generate sustained profitability and business growth by supporting the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of client propositions and the development and ongoing management of the Bank's products/services.
Key Responsibilities:
Proposition Development
- Support the Head of Proposition Development & Product Management to define, develop and implement client propositions
- Collaborate with the Client Experience Manager to improve client experience and satisfaction by incorporating client journeys and client experience standards into proposition development
- Support the development of the digital proposition to improve efficiency, reduce risk and enhance client and user experience and incorporate digital considerations into proposition and product design
- Identify opportunities to develop and improve client value propositions using competitor analysis and MI to identify trends and generate client insight
Product Management
- Work in partnership with Product Owners and Deputies to produce product development proposals for submission to the Product Governance Committee
- Undertake regular product reviews to identify opportunities for improvement, present findings and recommendations to the Product Governance Committee
- Deliver product management initiatives, ensuring product enhancements and changes meet the needs of clients and fall within regulatory frameworks
- Review new and maintain existing contractual documentation
- Produce materials to support the presentation of products to relevant committees and meetings
- Maintain the product register and document inventory, and support business areas to maintain internal and externally published documents
- Effectively communicate product line changes and key business initiatives to the wider bank
- Assist with new product operational training and ongoing support to include responding to technical and product queries from front and back office, product providers etc. and issue resolution
- Monitor and be aware of market and competitor activity to identify opportunities for the Bank
- Collate, present and interpret Management Information and complete Risk Control Plans, involving analysis of business volumes, product and providers, adviser activity etc. to facilitate proactive management of the product lines
- Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures
Key Interfaces

Knowledge / Experience
- Experience in a related role within financial services, e.g., product development, product proposition/strategy, product management, etc.
- Relevant experience within the Private Banking / Wealth Sector
- Good understanding of the product development lifecycle and proposition development
- Experience of delivering new products and product changes according to regulatory expectations
- Experience of managing and co-ordinating projects, process analyses and implementing changes
Skills
- Excellent influencing and communication skills, including ability to translate technical, operational and regulatory information into understandable terms
- Strong at forming partnerships and managing relationships with internal and external business partners, and more senior level colleagues within the business
- Ability to think creatively and with commercial focus in respect of product development and finding solutions to meet client needs
- Demonstrate a breadth of understanding across a range of products and services; credit, banking and treasury, discretionary management services and retail investment, pension and protection products
- Clear focus on understanding and controlling risk
- Attention to detail, prioritisation and organisational abilities
Qualifications
- Educated to a degree level or equivalent experience
- Professional qualifications in one or more of the product areas such as:
- Credit products - CMAP
- Investments - Investment Management Certificate
