Job spec – Manager, Valuations

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead multiple teams as well as deliver on multiple (+2 depending on project size) valuations projects, mainly purchase price allocations and audit assist (goodwill and intangible assets impairment testing) Effectively delegate tasks and provide guidance and training to staff Stay abreast of current market and economic environment both generally and as relevant to the client’s business Maintain positive, productive and professional relationships with client personnel and colleagues Coordinate and manage client, engagement team, third parties (relevant to the project) throughout the project process Analyse target information to identify: Key business trends/drivers EBITDA analysis Net working capital considerations Net debt and other potential liabilities that may impact the valuation

Perform economic and industry research using platforms such as Thompson Reuters and Bloomberg Review of WACC calculations and valuation databooks Create and design valuation reports specific to the scope of work or review of prepared reports and ensure scope requirements are met Manage the delivery team to provide real-time feedback, guidance and coaching to junior staff members Communicate and resolve issues as they arise Qualifications:

 

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Valuations CA(SA) / CFA Charterholder / MBA / Masters degree Strong current knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP, M&A and Transaction Advisory Services Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient in the following tools: Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint CapIQ

Willingness and ability to travel, including internationally
