Role Responsibilities
Strategy
The role holder is responsible for the design, formulation and execution of the Affluent banking strategy in AMEE. The strategy should include the efficient use of resources - products, digital channels and people - tagged to Affluent Segment and should be aligned with Group's Strategic Priorities. In addition, the role covers Deposits Product strategies and management.
Business
The role is a senior leadership role within the Regional CPBB Affluent & WM business directly responsible for end-to-end delivery of business objectives for the Affluent Client Segment. Key KPIs will include Financials (Revenue, Costs, LI, Operating Profit, CI ratio, RoTE, EVA) for the segment, strategic client KPIs (Client Growth, AUM Qualified Clients Growth, Engagement and deepening of Existing to Bank clients measured in wealth product penetration & product per client, Net Promoter Score for the segment).
Key Business Responsibilities:
  • Own budget delivery of financials against corporate plan targets for the Affluent segment and Deposits Product
  • Effectively lead the Affluent organisation in AMEE that includes, Country Affluent Heads, Relationship Managers and Client Service teams.
  • Deposit product oversight across the AMEE region from a balance and margin perspective
  • Leveraging analytics and digital capabilities to achieve digital sales targets, migration of clients to digital and client experience metrics.
  • Oversee deposit initiatives such as new product development, feature enhancements, client experience improvement, pricing management, etc.
  • Oversee day-to-day deposits product management across all markets including review/approval of deposit campaigns, monthly deposit reviews with markets, weekly deposit balance monitoring and flash process, month-end revenue analysis, and annual Plan and mid-year forecast exercise.
  • Support Exit Markets on deposits related matters to facilitate/assist in the sale or wind-down of their businesses
Processes
The role holder:
  • Will engage with risk control owners and / or group policy owners for the implementation of policies and control standards set by them
  • Work with in-country Client Experience team to develop processes to improve Client experience and NPS scores.
People and Talent
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from team and work in collaboration with partners.
  • Ensure scorecards and Front Line Incentivisation are managed within Group / Local regulatory requirements.
  • Employ, engage and retain a high-performance team with collaborative and energetic colleagues.
  • Ensure the provisioning of ongoing training and development of people.
  • Ensure holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles, including effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for the team and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Drive the roll-out of Wealth Management Academy within AME/E Region.
Risk Management
  • Collaboratively partner with risk teams to ensure risk management procedures and processes are effectively implemented to operate within operational and credit risk appetite.
  • Partner with COO teams for a robust risk management environment by identifying key risks and issues and ensuring effective mitigating measures and controls are implemented.
  • Work collaboratively with countries and functions to ensure any audit findings are suitably rectified.
Governance
  • Develop and implement a clear structure of accountability to ensure team members can perform their roles successfully and there is clear oversight and decision making, including by relevant Committees.
  • Take responsibility for assessing the effectiveness of arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in business, and if necessary, oversee change in these areas.
  • Maintain an awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Manage as regional lead on deposits related governance covering risk management, product control and compliance and partner with country product teams to ensure integration and compliance.
  • Take responsibility for delivering 'effective governance' and to challenge fellow executives effectively
  • Work with regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications - relevant degree
  • Experience financial services experienceand direct exposure to Affluent Client business.
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Strong understanding of analytics and solid numerical skills.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Positive attitude, high energy, ability to work under pressure and to tough deadlines
