Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Corporate Credit, the incumbent is responsible for contributing to the business objectives of the Corporate Credit, Fixed Income team by participate corporate public debt trading in accordance with specified risk/return criteria. The incumbent conduct complex analyses by promoting collaboration and teamwork.

Main responsibilities
  • Participate in analyses of companies that issue public debt;
  • Conduct due diligence reviews of companies in the coverage universe thoroughly and consistently, using the appropriate internal and/or external resources, and maintain an in-depth understanding of such companies;
  • Produce the required documentation regarding companies and the portfolio (synopsis sheets, financial and valuation models, investment memos, internal risk ratings, sectoral reports, etc.); help prepare internal reports based on established timelines and applicable policies;
  • Prepare investment recommendations to decision-making stakeholders;
  • Contribute to portfolio construction and oversee the development of tools to execute and monitor investment strategies;
  • Track economic conditions, trends, financial indicators and risk factors related to the public debt market and gather information from key sources on upcoming changes and best market practices to maintain competitive advantage;
  • Work cross-functionally with other CDPQ teams (Private Equity, Research; Risk; Legal Affairs.


Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public debt markets (investment grade and non investment grade);
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related discipline;
  • CFA, CAIA and/or FRM designations, an asset;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered;
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
