Description
The Software Engineer in Test (SET) is an experienced test engineer who is technically strong and can support and maintain end to end system integration testing environment with minimal oversight. Software Engineer in Test makes applications more testable by developing software to support testing efforts. Must be able to learn business knowledge well enough to execute, verify, analyze, trouble shoot and enhance automated regression tests that validate data/messaging flow across multiple applications. Must be able to interface and communicate with technical subject matter experts locally and across multiple geographic locations to get issues resolved. Software Engineer in Test is required to report task progress, suggest creative ideas and approaches for improvement, and escalate issues to the Lead QA Analyst. Software Engineer in Test must exhibit quick learning capabilities in picking up and mastering new concepts, business, technical and process oriented.
Principal Accountabilities:
  • Assist senior QA member or lead in identifying test scope, test risks, and test methodology approaches
  • Execute test responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Interface and communicate with internal teams and external support groups
  • Test data management
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining SDLC artifacts and facilitating reviews
Skills and Software Requirements:
  • Creating and executing test cases for sprint related development
  • Solid working knowledge of Linux
  • SQL for analysis and data verification in back-end tables
  • Kafka/IBM MQ/Google PubSub messaging experience
  • Programing knowledge for cucumber-based automation
  • Maintenance of test data sets including automated test data generation and writing of scripts to maintain pre-existing data sets
  • Generation of test tools to provide automated comparison of data between Production and Parallel environments
  • Automated post-deployment checkout scripts in live production environments
Qualifications Required:
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience with opensource technology, specifically Selenium with Cucumber test automation framework, as well as improving execution times through test optimization
  • Must be experienced with SQL and Linux/UNIX with some knowledge in Java
  • Developed and or recommended tools to assist test engineers in automated test planning, execution and reporting
  • Experience with automation concepts on code reviews and mentoring team members on automation best practices
  • Prior functional testing experience in Front end UIs and Backend REST endpoints and backend batch applications: Source Code Management (SCM): Bitbucket and GitHub
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins
  • Experience testing and integrating large systems
