Avid Wealth Partners is a forward-thinking independent wealth management and planning firm seeking a Portfolio Manager & Trader to join our expanding team to assist us in our mission of helping clients achieve their financial goals.
The Portfolio Manager & Trader is responsible for the company’s investment portfolios and trading operations. He or she helps develop and drive the implementation of the firm’s investment philosophy and processes and is responsible for making investment recommendations to the investment committee that is consistent with the firm’s strategy and goals. The Portfolio Manager & Trader will lead communicating the firms views to advisors and clients.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Management & Operations
- Trading and monitoring client portfolios in line with portfolio objectives
- Block trading individual exchange trade securities
- Executing tax loss harvesting, direct indexing and tail-risk hedging strategies
- Carry out disciplined processes for auditing trades to avoid trade errors
- Analyze client portfolio statements and develop asset transition plans
- Identifying and recommending new ways to streamline processes
Communication
- Author weekly market updates and talking points used by advisors to communicate firm views to clients
- Communicate tactical opportunities in current market conditions to clients
- Meet with advisors and prospective clients to identify opportunities and help move to action
- Present ideas and client proposals in professional presentations
- Collaborate with leadership and investment committee to develop the firm’s long- term and short-term investment philosophy and strategies consistent with the firm’s vision, strategy, and client value proposition
- Meet with investment company partners and provide relevant macroeconomic and sector trends
- Identify and manage strategic partnerships and third-party relationships
- Using tools and techniques to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs
Research & Strategy
- Continuously collect and interpret data, such as financial developments, and macro developments, and clearly communicates changes in capital markets to the advisors, leadership, clients, and prospects
- Research and due diligence on active managers and ETFs for existing and prospective portfolio holdings
- Screen for new investment ideas/strategies
- Identify key metrics and ensure consistent and effective tracking and reporting of performance data
- Perform due diligence to ensure legal and regulatory compliance and consistency with the investment strategies and processes
- Using data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns
- Performing statistical analysis of data to support portfolio and operational projects
WHAT YOU NEED:
Required skills:
- 3 Year minimum experience in a trading environment
- Prior experience executing equity orders, block trading, options trading, bond trading
- Highly proficient with Excel
- Possess strong analytical skills to work with large amounts of data, extract relevant information and draw logical conclusions
- High level of experience in preforming due diligence on Mutual Funds managers and ETFs
- Detail-oriented, creative problem solver with an ability to prioritize work and negotiate conflict
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings
- Strong IT and critical thinking skills
Preferred skills:
- Professional designation such as CFP, CIMA or CFA
- Experience with Orion or similar portfolio trading and reporting platform
- Morningstar Direct, YCharts, Bloomberg experience
- Experience with Fidelity's trading platform
- Knowledge of performance computations
