Job Purpose Statement

Responsible for producing, understanding and presenting both the regional and global CTI (Ameriprise's Global Asset Management business) financial results. Alongside regular and ad-hoc reporting, you will conduct business performance analysis to identify and resolve/escalate issues. There is a high focus on team leadership, continual role improvement and the role holder will be expected to play a strong leadership role for the global team's BAU and project activities.

Role Responsibilities

How you'll spend your time....
  • Understand and analyze all aspects of monthly/quarterly financial within the regional and Global Asset Management business.Develop a deep understanding of financial results across regional and Global Asset Management, including P&L drivers, business metrics, and other key trends.
  • Develop reports and variance analysis, develop "the story" around monthly results and write resulting commentary.
  • Identify issues that are worthy of further root cause analysis and determine process/data sources to deal with them including performing more complex data analysis and forecasting.
  • Provide strong thought and process leadership including process improvements contributing to the globalization of the team
  • Work closely with and play a leading role in directing and reviewing work of team members in India
  • Review results with VP level business partners, present regional and global results and partner to determine critical issues.
  • Run models and perform complex variance analysis. Develop assumptions by working with business leaders. Present implication to business management.
  • Potential to support business results and relationships on an ad-hoc basis by developing deep analysis to determine future implications of business decisions. Perform end-to-end business case analysis looking at quantitative and qualitative aspects of a decision. Provide initial recommendation based on these analyses.


Key Capabilities

To be successful in this role you will have....
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience.
  • Previous experience in financial or analytical roles, preferably within the asset management industry.
  • Results-focused with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.
  • Proactive change agent with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables relative to target dates
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to complete complex detailed financial modeling and analysis using spreadsheets and/or other tools.
  • Experience applying accounting and financial concepts to interpret and solve business problems.
  • Proven ability to pro-actively manage multiple tasks with minimal direction and support.
  • Proven ability to take outputs of detailed financial analysis and summarize for senior leadership.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to present findings to senior management both verbally and in written communication, and influence various levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of finance, accounting and analytical skills.
  • Independent problem solver able to pro-actively resolve issues by thinking through solutions and partnering closely with business partners.
