- Monitoring progress against agreed parameters, identifying key risks, resolving issues and initiating timely corrective action
- Management & tracking of allocation of resource pools across the portfolio of projects.
- Supporting in monitoring of resources and work proactively with colleagues from across different Service lines and the wider Management team, to ensure utilisation is maximised.
- Deliver and lead an effective planning & allocation approach, ensuring effective resource planning and allocation is embedded across the teams.
- Chair/drive weekly meetings. Presenting information at weekly resourcing ops /project meetings
- Support the project teams in driving reporting & governance deliverables, being responsible for the reporting cycle and outputs for the project teams.
- Support the leaderships teams in ensuring lessons learned and retrospectives on projects are systematically collected, shared, actioned in future projects.
- Ensuring outputs meet requirements within time, quality, cost constraints (and timely escalation of risks if not)
- Preparation of project reports including status reports, RAID logs and project dashboards, tracking and analysis of budgetary information across the full project portfolio
Key Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of a professional services environment and/or Financial Services sector ideal.
- Demonstrable experience in a PMO/ Resource Planning context.
- Experienced in using data to drive strategic decisions.
- Proven success in setting up and managing a resourcing framework/approach.
- Deep understanding of project management principles and methodologies such as Agile.
- Confidence to manage conflict and provide push back and challenge to protect the live environment.
- Conducting regular reviews to track progress against project deliverables and key milestones.
- Understanding the content of current and emerging portfolio of change and how it adds value
- Understanding the corporate vision and strategy and the wider industry
- Corporate processes and procedures (e.g. Governance, Finance, HR, minimum standards) and associated language / culture
- Identifying and monitoring and developing appropriate remedial plans for key project/programme performance (KPIs) and risk (KRIs) metrics.
- A high level of written and verbal communications skills, ability to extrapolate the "message" from the numbers, client focused and computer literate.
- Proven experience in managing multiple tasks, with effective prioritisation skills
- Accredited with Prince2/PMP/MSP or equivalent qualification(s)
