We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Manager to join our team at Ameriprise! Support and handle credit risk of the Bank's lending portfolios, incorporating Securities Based Lending, Mortgage, Credit Card, and other consumer credit. Includes day to day operational risk support, portfolio analysis, credit data consumption and reporting, risk management and risk strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and handles the Bank's Securities Based Lending credit portfolio. Continually reviews processes and policies to ensure credit decisions and transactions are risk based. Supports and improves front and back-end credit decisions.
  • Using data from a variety of sources, analyzes sophisticated business issues, incorporating company and industry knowledge, mathematical and technological expertise, and sound analytical processes to identify and handle portfolio risks.
  • Analyzes lending portfolios to improve profitability by handling risk exposure.
  • Builds and improves credit data structure, flow, and reporting, from overviews to focused risk elements within portfolios.
  • Serves as the provider of monthly Risk Management MIS and guidance as it relates to the Securities Based Lending data and analytics.
  • Supports risk analysis of Mortgage, Credit Card, and other consumer credit.
  • Continuously supervises credit quality and practices including collections, foreclosures, and credit line management. Approves loan exceptions within assigned credit authority.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years' experience in credit/risk management, or portfolio management, or data analytics. Experience with Securities Based Lending is preferred.
  • Experience with credit underwriting/review, credit reporting and risk analysis development and automation.
  • Strong analytical capabilities including ability to build reports, cases and proposals.
  • Experience in handling large data sets to extract and analyze required details. Hands-on experience writing SQL queries and crafting Power BI dashboards. Python and Data Lake are plus.
  • Understanding of the various asset classes and interest in Financial Markets
  • Interpersonal skills, including collaboration, leadership, and influence management.
