About this role

Role Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-starting compliance officer to join BlackRock in Dublin. This position will complement an existing team of over 100 expert compliance professionals based across the EMEA region and will support the Designated Person for Regulatory Compliance in Dublin. The role involves the provision of compliance support for the Irish UCITS Management Company/AIFM which manages in excess of 500 funds across multiple asset classes and investment styles with an AUM in excess of $900 billion.

Business Unit Overview:

BlackRock's Compliance Department protects BlackRock's reputation and provides client focussed advice. It understands challenges and advises on the impact of regulation in our business, with the objective of:

• Actively participating in business decisions to champion our clients' interests and assist the business to translate Compliance into their daily work

• Putting client interests at the centre of everything we do

• Cultivating and enhancing the compliance culture within BlackRock

• Providing thought leadership on the impact and implementation of regulation

• Developing and fostering excellence within the Compliance team

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Designated Person for Regulatory Compliance to ensure the appropriate oversight and monitoring of the Irish UCITS Management Company/AIFM's regulatory obligations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of management and board reporting.
  • Assist with regulatory filings to the CBI.
  • Help advise on regulations and the application of BlackRock's compliance policies in relation to existing and new business initiatives.
  • Participate in Compliance or business-driven projects, including regulatory developments and strategic initiatives, by timely value-added advice.
  • Help to manage relationships with depositories, responding in partnership with other teams to complete information requests.
  • Assist technology initiatives to drive efficiencies and reduce regulatory risk.
  • Support the due diligence program, including undertaking testing and monitoring.
  • Assist in maintaining BlackRock Ireland Compliance policies.
  • Contribute to the delivery of effective regulatory training to the business.
  • Assist in managing regulatory engagements with the CBI.
  • Establish successful partnerships with Compliance colleagues in other EMEA locations.
  • Develop and manage internal client relationships.


Requirements:
  • At least 1 years' experience within a control function or governance role within the asset management industry, ideally within Compliance or Legal.
  • An understanding of UCITS, AIFMD and the Irish regulatory environment is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to quickly comprehend complex matters.
  • Technical ability and mindset to challenge the status-quo and deliver a solutions-driven approach.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and manage relationships.
  • A self-starter who is results driven and possesses a high degree of self-motivation.
  • The ability to demonstrate high standards of professional accuracy and rigorous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise workloads, progress multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively both within the team and across functions.
  • A successful track record, ideally with an international organisation.
  • Broad advisory experience across asset classes and covering a range of jurisdictions would be a distinct advantage.
