Resource Solutions are currently recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst to work for us on a permanent basis as part of our newly introduced Workforce Consultancy model. Effectively you will be working as an Employed Consultant for Resource Solutions and will get the opportunity to work for our endless portfolio of blue chip and global clients.

The first opportunity will be to work for a blue chip financial services provider and we are looking for a Lead Business Analyst to work on a project which is centred around regulatory reporting. We are looking for someone who has expeirence of leading a team of BAs and has good experience of working in a variety of regulations which would be an advtange as there is a focus on various regulatory reporting regimes like MIFID, EMIR, MMFR. Experience of this is essenital!

Role will be based in their state of the art offices in Central London.

Job Specification:

Purpose of role:

An advisory role which has the responsibility for investigating and analysing business situations, identifying, and evaluating options for improving business systems, elaborating and defining requirements, and ensuring the effective implementation and use of information systems in line with the needs of the business.

The Business Analyst role requires an experienced business analyst capable of overseeing and driving the early stages of project inception, through to delivery. Analyst must be able to see the bigger picture, and act as expert counsel to align Business Change ideas to Operating Model, Architecture and Strategic themes, as well as coaching, mentoring, and guiding other analysts.

The BA must be able to operate in a Lean, Agile environment and is comfortable formulating an consulting on Epics across identified Value Streams.

The BA also needs to be self-starting and inquisitive, comfortable working in complex delivery environments, with multiple stakeholders. Excellent communications skills are a pre-requisite.

Principal accountabilities:
  1. Identify and manage the 'big picture' associated with Business Change and proactively work with stakeholders to optimise, enable, and drive the portfolio.
  2. Ensure that all change is compliant with the Business Change Management Framework. Ensuring full traceability of requirements through to benefits.
  3. Identify innovative, effective, and scalable approaches to tackle business change problems.
  4. Capturing as-is and to-be operating models, incorporating processes, organisation, technology, and information themes, using a variety of business analysis techniques.
  5. Act in a business consultancy capacity; managing competing requirements, configuring, and managing workshops
  6. Derive and define high level business requirements, map out appropriate Epics and User Stories to support delivery. Look for re-use opportunities.
  7. Liaise with technical delivery teams throughout the change lifecycle
  8. Validate resource requirements and cost estimates for analysis and other deliverables. Assess and critique the estimates of others.
  9. Assist in the preparation of, and where necessary produce, Lean business cases
  10. Manage escalation and prioritisation pro-actively, and in some cases manage the outcomes of escalations from others
  11. Identify best practice opportunities for the Business Change Business Analysis team and contribute to realising these opportunities
  12. Lead one or more business analysis 'pods' focussed on particular client journeys, value streams, or equivalent.
  13. As required, perform line management for one or more business analysts.


Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

Qualifications:
  • Degree level education preferred
  • Business analysis qualification preferred

Knowledge:
  • Experience in Financial Services
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in an Investment Management company is highly desirable, although other commensurate backgrounds will also be considered

Experience:
  • Evidence of a structured approach to analysis and documentation, using recognised tools and techniques
  • Experience of requirements elicitation and design, and operating model definition
  • Experience using Business Process Modelling
  • Experience of investment operations including collateral, securities lending, and reporting
  • Experience of Agile/iterative delivery and contribution to/creation of business cases
  • Experience of full project lifecycle with a client journey and product-led focus
  • Sound understanding of IT software and infrastructure
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Extremely organised with strong time-management skills
  • Leadership: Previous line management experience of BAs strongly preferred but not essential.
  • Regulatory Reporting experience is essential ie MIFID, EMIR, IBOR, DODD FRANK etc
