Position Overview:
Are you passionate about learning, technology, and analytics? Our opening for a Director, Learning & Development is a great opportunity to bring your talent development experience to the table and make a meaningful impact in the careers and employee experiences of our highly driven workforce. The Director, Learning & Development is responsible for the creation, optimization, maintenance, and delivery of critical learning programs that translate corporate strategic priorities into practical and evidence-based development solutions at the individual and team levels. The incumbent plays an advisory role to senior Business Leaders in the areas of Learning & Development. Position is based out of our Chicago office with a flexible work from home schedule.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Design and deploy programs and processes in all aspects of talent development including leadership and professional development, learning and development and employee engagement that enhance the CME Employee Value Proposition:
    • Create comprehensive firm-wide reskilling training programs to support our digital transformation to the Google Cloud
    • Forge a new hire orientation and continued learning path for employees at all levels which shortens individual role learning curves and prepares them to take on increasingly challenging and complex roles/projects within the organization
    • Develop train-the-trainer tools and modules to prepare HR Business Partners to deliver talent programs
    • Foster a culture of learning by modernizing existing programs materials incorporating adult learning best practices and delivery methods to design self-guided, bite-sized, and on-demand (asynchronous) learning curricula
  • Provide thought leadership and advice on talent development programs, contributing to the long-term strategic direction for CME Group's Talent Development function and meeting our corporate business goal of attracting, creating, and retaining top-quality talent
  • Apply LMS (Workday Learning) and digital technologies in the ongoing design and delivery of existing and future training programs and products; use tools that motivate and engage learners and learning across a diverse landscape
  • Develop and maintain evaluation tools, methods, and processes including data analysis that determine efficacy of the learning strategy and implement appropriate solutions
  • Work collaboratively with HR Business Partners and internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization to conduct business needs analysis and advise leaders on the most appropriate instructional design tools and internal programs to achieve strategic business outcomes
  • Facilitate dynamic, interactive, and effective training programs in live, virtual, multimedia and/or hybrid learning settings
  • Seek out and maintain quality professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders; forge partnership with key business leaders to ensure department's efforts are relevant and contributory; evaluate and recommend new vendors that align with CME's values
  • Manage budget and expenses for L&D programs; ensuring all learning solutions are cost effective
  • Develop and coordinate Global training calendar, maintaining records and reports of learning activities


Qualifications:
  • Software Requirements: LMS implementations (Workday Learning), Content management (LinkedIn Learning) and creation technology (Captivate)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Adult Learning / ISD, Organizational Development or a related field preferred
  • Experience: Eight years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, OD or related field

  • Strong client-focus with strengths in quickly and effectively establishing trust, building and sustaining relationships, and using data to drive continuous improvement
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, effectively communicating complex information; able to lead engaging and productive working sessions across multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience managing a dynamic portfolio of initiatives and project activities driving innovation and transformation opportunities
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills including identification and execution of key analyses, ability to synthesize and present compelling recommendations.
  • Desire to think beyond traditional training and innovate in the learning experience
  • Ability to create learning materials/content, develop scripts and videos using a range of digital tools
