Job Purpose/Background:

Responsible for business development of diversified wealth clients across Mexico – including Private Banks, Independent Advisors and Family Offices. The role involves building and developing the knowledge of products and solutions amongst Financial Advisers in Mexico, maintenance of relationships, prospecting new opportunities and working closely with clients through the sales cycle.

As a Business Developer Officer, provide BlackRock asset management capabilities to financial intermediaries as investment recommendations to their clients. Be effective at selling the entire range of investment solutions available, which includes money market funds, open-end funds, ETFs, managed accounts and alternative investments (real estate investments, private equity, private credit, infrastructure and hedge funds) and act as a liaison between portfolio managers and financial intermediaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong contribution and delivery of Mexico sales target
  • Partner with senior regional managers exploring new business opportunities
  • Understand client's necessities and market trends, provide ideas and solutions to intermediaries to improve sales
  • Understand the financial services industry and ensure that the Wealth Advisory service to clients is both effective and competitive.
  • Interact with regional Wealth Sales individuals in executing annual retail business plan, including well defined sales targets for major accounts
  • Collect, categorize and maintain updated client data, mapping the client’s investment profile, organizational structure, key contacts, sales opportunity and priority
  • Work closely with Marketing Team for new products and marketing campaigns launches and to build out appropriate messaging to client base
  • Build out of network of clients in conjunction with the Mexico Institutional Team
  • Share standard methodologies across LatAm and adopt team working to contribute to the Wealth team and BlackRock regional business targets
  • Partner with colleagues across other functions, client businesses, investments, operations and corporate to demonstrate firm's capabilities
  • Presentations to groups of advisers at education seminars
  • Maintain an accurate and current log of all activities and opportunities in relevant CRM system
  • Responsible for providing performance data to clients, answering client’s questions / queries on products and other sales related matters
  • Mexico travel to meet new and existing clients

Knowledge / Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in the Mexico financial services market
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is a prerequisite
  • Solid understanding of the retail market, including regulation and trends.
  • Experience in distributing investment products and being an excellent partner within the advisory market
  • Confirmed knowledge of the markets and economic outlook
  • Validated expertise in building and developing client relationships and successfully selling investment products
  • Strong teammate, ability to muck in when required, collaborate internally to utilize BlackRock’s resources
