Position Overview:
This position provides pricing support and analysis for Compeer’s loan, lease and investment portfolios. Leads analysis, development, and adoption of product offerings, interest rate risk and related differential funding strategies. Acts as subject matter expert for projects throughout the company to advocate pricing strategy and ensure compliance with wholesale and retail pricing guidelines and systems. Compeer Financial office location in Illinois, Minnesota, or Wisconsin. However, Bloomington, IL; Naperville, IL (near Chicago, IL); Lakeville, MN (near Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN); or Sun Prairie, WI (near Madison, WI) are preferred. 

Essential Functions:

  • Is a subject matter expert for Compeer’s pricing strategy and transfer pricing products. Provides support, guidance, and training to team members.
  • Counsels sales team members on options/alternatives to optimize pricing outcomes and grow the business profitably.
  • Provides education and training to sales and leadership on organization’s transfer pricing, economy, and financial markets.
  • Serves as a liaison with the Funding Bank and their Funds Pricing System. Includes collaborating in product/program innovation and delivery, troubleshooting pricing issues to identify optimal solutions and preparing special pricing quotes for large and unique loan structures.
  • Leads projects to research and analyze innovative pricing solutions and product offerings.
  • Administers the organizations rates through the daily pricing processes.
  • Calculates prepayment penalty fees, conversion fees and other servicing action fees as necessary.
  • Collaborates with the organizations budgeting team regarding pricing inputs and assumptions.
  • Participates in model risk management for all ALCO/pricing models. Includes managing individual model design and development, maintenance, documentation, and validations along with daily administration and support for front line users.
  • Provides pricing support for corporate technology such as Salesforce, nCino, Centric Conversion-Reprice, and Optimal Blue.
  • Creates and enriches standard reporting and analysis for the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and sales leadership/team members on organization’s pricing results, interest rate risk, and interest rate trends.
  • Is a primary resource for ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and insights on interest rates and portfolio pricing.

Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree, CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in pricing, asset liability management, debt capital markets, or financial analysis at a financial institution.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial markets including; fixed income, swaps, capital markets, impacts of US & Global Economy on interest rates, financial instruments, and funding.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial and asset liability management concepts.
  • Advanced knowledge of traditional mortgage lending, secondary market lending, and loan pooling process.
  • Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office suite, customer relationship management (CRM) programs, and data analytics programs.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
