About This Opportunity

Exciting opportunity to join our Accounting product team as the Global Head of Insurance. We currently service over 400 insurance clients with more than $2Tn in assets across our Asset Servicing products. We are looking for an experienced individual who can provide subject matter expertise that can be leveraged to expand and enhance our existing Insurance Accounting product offering. This person will work closely with operations and technology partners to lead product delivery through our Insurance Accounting platforms.

S/he will work collaboratively with operational teams, technology developers, client facing staff, as well as with a variety of teams within the BNY Mellon Asset Servicing business to clearly define product roadmaps, capabilities, systems, business, and functional requirements to support the design and overall delivery of solutions to our clients.

Position requires an individual that is self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision. The individual needs to be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and be able to handle changing priorities. The individual will be required to interface with other groups within the company and must be able to demonstrate an ability to work in a professional, cooperative manner with an executive presence appropriate for senior communications.

Responsibilities include:
  • Create and manage product roadmap with appropriate stakeholders across the business
  • Drive project execution against strategy
  • Identify opportunities to fill market or internal gaps, and oversee work in progress to ensure it will meet current and foreseeable demand
  • Face off with clients and prospects to explain the respective capabilities, review roadmaps, and understand emerging client needs and potential solutions
  • Ensure scalability, efficiency and cost-effective delivery of accounting products to client base
  • Stay abreast of competitor offerings by periodically refreshing competitive analysis
  • Carefully manage against any deviations from the standard model (i.e., bespoke requests)
  • Provide support and oversight for technical builds & manage execution
  • Support the Capital Planning process based on agreed upon prioritized projects
  • Responsible for Product Development lifecycle including pricing, automation / tech prioritization, efficiency, resiliency, SLA's, overall unit cost, and execution on strategy
  • Leads partnership with Technology and Operations on behalf of the business. Works with Client coverage, Technology and Operations teams to resolve escalated issues
  • Responsible for making P&L decisions in the best interest of the business, and assessing whether appropriate margins are received on existing product set


Skillset, Personal Qualities:

Self-motivated and consistent in ensuring that goals are achieved

Ability to own tasks and responsibilities, update on progress and take action to resolve any issues

Make effective decisions taking into consideration the circumstance, priorities, timing and constraints

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others to take a specific course of action when there is no direct line of command or control

Maintain up to date knowledge of financial services, specifically Accounting and Insurance

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Must have:

10+ industry experience in global insurance

Excellent communication skills - both oral and written

Stakeholder management

Analytical and critical thinking skills

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Strong communication skills

Preferred:

Experience in EMEA Insurance product management
