•\tTo lead the Outsourcing & Risk Monitoring CH team, develop its strategy and manage its resources.
•\tEnsure that a high service level is received from outsourcing providers of Vontobel Fund Services AG.
•\tEnsure the effective and efficient measurement, monitoring and reporting of the key risks on a company and investment fund level.
•\tEnsure the effective management of fund life-cycle projects with regard to operational aspects, in coordination with other stakeholders
•\tEnsure compliance with regulatory obligations
•\tEnsure that the internal governance framework operates effectively

Your opportunity Team leadership and resource management
  • Lead a team of two and manage their delivery of the function's obligations.
  • Develop a strategy for the function, based around a clear definition of its mandate to support a Swiss-regulated management company and fund umbrellas, and plan its personnel and systems resourcing around this strategy.
  • Work closely with Vontobel Asset Management risk management teams to achieve efficiencies through leveraging existing risk systems and tools.
  • Manage or support risk management related projects.

Risk Management (Risk Monitoring)
  • Ensure that an adequate risk management framework is in place for the Management Company and fund umbrellas.
  • Ensure monitoring of Investment Control and Operational Risk as outsourcing providers, with regard to their controls and activities.
  • Ensure reporting and escalation of risk issues (e.g. risk matrix, RCSA, risk tolerance, risk reporting).

Outsourcing Monitoring
  • Ensure fully compliant monitoring and due-diligence of outsourcing providers and seek to continuously improve service quality levels (e.g. periodic meetings).
  • Ensure support for a timely and efficient handling of funds' setup and maintenance.
  • Ensure timely calculation and publication of correct NAV's inclusive issue handling.
  • Ensure monitoring and challenge of OTC prices as well as fund risk exposures where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with stock exchange notification duties Ensure effective monitoring of the production of the funds' (semi-)annual reports etc Ensure compliance with the policy framework and internal requirements with regards to outsourcing.
  • Ensure reporting and escalation of outsourcing issues (e.g. valuation issue, KPIs), including logging and analysis of problems and coordination with outsourcing providers to agree solutions.
  • Manage or support outsourcing monitoring related projects

  • Industry experience: at least 5 years' experience of funds and investment management in an asset management or fund services firm.
  • Funds knowledge: expert-level (based on hands-on experience) of all aspects of fund operations (TA, accounting, administration, valuation, distribution) and of investor types (institutional, retail) and service-providers (TAs, custodians, administrators).
  • Regulatory knowledge: experience of the Swiss regulatory framework for investment managers.
  • Leadership and management: Proven experience of leading, motivating and managing teams.
  • Excellent communication: be able to communicate effectively at all levels, with both internal and external stakeholders (including investors, board members and regulators).
  • Ability to work independently and be effective in leading a collaborative effort.
  • Be motivated be a desire to solve problems, taking the initiative to obtain the required information where necessary, innovating where appropriate and following issues through to resolution or hand-over to suitable responsible parties.
  • Languages: fluent written and spoken communication in English.
