THE ROLE

  • This role will report to the Senior Director, Solutions and Design, EMEA Change Management
  • As Director, Solutions and Design, EMEA Change Management this role is responsible for providing design thinking and expert knowledge across both the UK and Global Change Portfolios, supporting deliverables that underpin the SVB Corporate Strategy
  • Lead a "Strategic theme" of work that looks holistically across a portfolio of projects including both strategic and operational change.
  • Understand and actively manage the dependencies and proximities of the projects within their Strategic Theme and through working closely with the other Theme leads across the remainder of the portfolio to ensure design thinking, sequencing and outcomes align across the portfolio. Where appropriate influence the enterprise wide alignment and thinking.
  • Communicate the "Change story" in a holistic, 'future state' way joining multiple projects to show how the business will transform over time. Clearly articulate how we support the Corporate Strategy aligning our thinking and deliverables to each pillar. Engage and tell the story both locally and globally reflecting the audience e.g. that the local teams understands what will change, are welcoming of the change and know what it means to them whilst at more senior levels we can articulate the holistic view, clearly demonstrating our understanding of enterprise wide portfolio's, their dependencies and impact on both the client and the business
  • Help to develop optimal business solutions that deliver customer centric outcomes as well as scale and efficiency within the enterprise
  • Provide leadership to a team of subject matter experts leading and supporting the deliverables within the theme.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide subject matter expertise to both Strategic and Operational Change deliverables and assume lead and support SME role on both larger enterprise and local projects. Through this, design solutions and implement change into the business including business readiness activity.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders in their SME area to keep current on BAU practices and build relationships more broadly across the business to act as an advocate of EMEA Change Management as well as supporting the consistency of messaging across the business.
  • Act as an Advisor to the business when needed to assess change opportunities.
  • Challenge ongoing design of both strategic and operational changes to align to strategic objectives, resolve roadblocks and design issues and influence changes in thinking where required
  • Have a global mindset ensuring both local and global requirements are factored into thinking where applicable
  • Mentor and support other members of the EMEA Change Management team to enable effective ownership and contribution to requirements gathering, design thinking and execution through the lifecycle of both strategic and operational change
  • Sit on "Dragons Den" as an advisor to SME recommendations to solve for initiatives and challenge thinking, bringing a holistic, enterprise wide view of other programmes and projects to identify and solve for the problem statements in the most efficient manner with client, employee enablement and risk lenses
  • Manage a team of Subject Matter Experts within the Solutions and Design team
  • Represent EMEA Change Management within senior forums including Steering Groups, Cross Initiative Alignment Programme, Transformation Office and/or ad hoc Enterprise Wide Programme meetings providing guidance and thinking on strategic ways of working, ideas and opportunities to enhance and challenge how we increase our efficiency both locally and globally


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • A degree or equivalent educational experience is preferred with the following work experience being considered ideal:
  • Experience working across multiple facets in a Commercial Bank
  • Designing and delivering business and technology solutions in the FI space
  • Experience of Project Management/Delivery
  • Understanding Bank Operations and IT systems
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency, be able to think beyond the initial set of facts or issues and have a strong orientation for probing for less than apparent solutions
  • Must have the capability to think independently to form a viewpoint, be able to create transformative as well as iterative options
  • In style, the individual should be consultative versus directive and be able to weigh options and alternatives effectively, yet equally capable of being decisive
  • Strong written& oral communications skills and influencing up to executive-level tailoring the content and approach to the specific audience
  • Must have strong engagement style across single stakeholders, small groups and larger cross branch groups to bring the change story to life, build excitement, help understanding and give confidence in the delivery timeline
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Able to deal with ambiguity, able to synthesize complex information and translate into actionable recommendations and solutions
