Sustainability Technology - Environment, Social and Governance (ESG)

Sustainability is a strategic priority for Deutsche Bank and we are investing in the platforms, data and technology that will help our clients manage their Sustainability goals and transition to a Net Zero Carbon economy.

ESG Services will provide a bank-wide set of services for the lifecycle management of ESG and Sustainable Finance deal classification, in line with regulatory and internal ESG taxonomies, as well as management of Climate, Net Zero and other ESG risks. The services will ensure this information is usable to support regulatory and management reporting, risk management and commercial opportunities for the bank, and therefore interacts with many business lines, processes, and systems across the whole bank.

As a Data Architect and Modeller (m/f/x) you will be responsible for the data architecture and requirements for ESG services at a business and technical level, supporting the delivery of the platform on Google Cloud.

Your key responsibilities
  • Working with the business and business analysts to understand data requirements for ESG.
  • Define, socialize and document logical and physical Data Models for data produced, managed, and distributed by the ESG Services in alignment with the Enterprise Architecture principles and applicable engineering best practices.
  • Work with architects and data modellers across Bank to align data standards, and governance design patterns and component responsibilities.
  • Work with the development teams to ensure the data architecture is realized.
  • Own and contribute to compliance with all relevant architecture governance.
Your skills and experiences
  • Strong stakeholder and business engagement skills in Financial Services.
  • Strong data modelling skills; specifically around logical and physical models from both business requirements and reverse-engineering of existing databases.
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise information management including: ETL, Data Warehousing, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Analytics, Big Data. Experience with data modelling on Cloud solutions in particular Google Cloud Platform a plus.
  • Experience delivering solutions using new data architectures (PostGres, HDFS, Data Vaults, as well as traditional relational databases).
  • Practical experience of working on large-scale enterprise architectures.
