Position Description:

PIMCO leverages the Beacon cloud platform to build rich web user interfaces and backend services with components utilizing full stack Python. We're looking for a senior software engineer with excellent Python web development skills. You'll leverage our cloud platform to build applications for our internal Portfolio Management, Analytics and other teams. In addition, you'll build and extend platform UI components based on React and exposed via Python. Experience with React/JavaScript is preferred, or willingness to learn. This is an exciting opportunity to accelerate developer enablement efforts, given the rapid growth of our cloud platform usage across the firm.

Responsibilities:

• Build applications for internal teams, including Technology, Analytics and Portfolio Management
• Extend our Beacon platform UI component suite, leveraging Python and React, to write reusable code for internal developers
• Exceptional team player and communicator, collaborate closely with technology and business colleagues
• Establish and socialize excellent engineering practices

Position Requirements:

• 7+ years of software development experience
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical field
• Experience working with trading desks is preferred
• Financial Markets knowledge is a plus
• Deep knowledge of Python 3.6+
• Strong grasp of JavaScript, React JS, HTML, CSS
• Exposure to data structures and algorithms, OOP and design patterns
• Experience building reusable components
• Expertise in REST APIs, WebSockets, Messaging, Caching
• Experience with data modeling, relational and NO SQL databases
• AWS, Docker, GitHub familiarity preferred
