Due to our significant growth, we are now in search for a Payroll Specialist to support our London team. Currently 50+ person office, this new seat will ensure the pay process is efficient, advise to internal and external parties, and also communicate and report on the end-to-end function.

As the first of its kind here in our Kings Cross office, you will be the subject matter expert on UK payroll, and also advise on our global mobile workforce. You will also consult on tax and pension matters, working with our Finance Manager, Tax teams, and the wider financial department in Australia.

Your new team:

Our Finance and Operations group ensures the Fund's considerable financial, commercial, legal; investments and operational activities are timely and accurate. Dedicated to continuous improvement, it is a team led by managers who advocate for their people, are open and approachable and who share their knowledge. Our shared purpose is singular and clear.

As we expand our Finance team, and our offices internationally, this new seat will be part of this growth, challenging and improving payroll processes, advising on best practices and operations, and work closely with wider teams within the Fund.

Your new role:

This position is responsible for delivering high quality payroll management for our UK employees. This will require a hands-on approach to the inputs and outputs of the function, as well as a problem-solving and solution focused mindset.

You will also be advising employees and management, communicating with our Australian office etc, so you'll need to be used to challenging the process, including providing analysis and commentary on payroll reports.

Key duties include:
  • Manage and maintain payroll processing, supporting an end-to-end function (including starters, movers, leavers, and third parties)
  • Facilitate reporting on payroll updates weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually, according to obligations
  • Work closely with the Finance and Operations, and People and Culture departments
  • Suggest payroll improvements process where needed, and advise this to senior stakeholders
  • Engage with third party providers to maintain the highest quality of service delivery
  • Provide support and advise on other payroll matter, tax, pensions, global mobility


You will need:
  • Significant experience working in payroll, ideally for 50+ people.
  • Familiar with working autonomously, but likes being part of a small team
  • Full cycle payroll processing
  • Exposure in an internal business, where people move and visit from different jurisdictions
  • A natural passion for working with payroll, all HMRC requirements and numerical reporting
  • An eye for detail, and enjoy working as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially excel.
  • Exposure to payroll in another jurisdiction e.g., the US is a plus, but not essential.
