Sales Development Representative, (APAC - ENR / OMDC (BCI)

Summary :

Need a junior salesperson to generate leads for the existing sales team and also handle client support requests.

General Job Duties:

This generally includes qualifying and disqualifying new business opportunities, identifying customer pain, delivering executive IHS Markit point of view dialogue, delivering solution presentations to new customers, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, closing business in a timely manner, and fully comprehending the IHS Markit unique value proposition. This individual will report to the APAC Regional Sales Executive Director - OMDC (OMDC - Oil Markets, Midstream, Downstream & Chemicals)

Specific Job Duties:

The Sales Development Representative will own a specific set of named accounts within the APAC region and be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain a self-starter attitude while creating outreach strategies for new lead generation methods
  • Support senior salespeople on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts
  • Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and determine the next steps for each prospect moving forward
  • Establish active communication and engagement with prospects to create new leads and sales openings
  • Collaborate with sales teams by creating innovative lead generation ideas
  • Become familiar with IHS Markit's Energy and Natural Resources product portfolio particularly on Base Chemicals
  • Assist senior salespeople by responding to client support requests
  • Utilize SalesForce to track all client interactions
  • Providing clients, both internal and external, with timely assistance whenever a question or issue is raised


Required Education:

4 years College Degree in Science or related technical field

Required Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years sales experience, with at least 2-3 years of experience in selling the customers in the Energy or PetroChemical industry enterprise solutions
  • Working knowledge of the Energy & PetroChemical services industry
  • Flawless communication skills, both written and oral; public speaking experience is a plus
  • Experience in the energy, chemical and/or natural resources industries is a plus
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and SalesForce; experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and phone/email presence; must be able to deal with others in a pleasant manner and work under varying degrees of pressure and time constraints
  • Great listening skills and responsiveness
  • Personal initiative and ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work independently while still interacting within an integrated team structure
  • Demonstrated success in uncover business potential through pre-sales preparation work and with good understanding of the client's needs to progressing lead


Language Requirements:

• English (verbal and written) proficiency required

• Bahasa, Mandarin and tther dialects & languages considered an asset.
