About this role:

This position is part of an exciting growing APAC CIB Operations team supporting the APAC Markets business. The role is focused on Process Review and Enhancement (PRE) and also supports certain Business Management activities. The successful candidate will utilise their knowledge of and experience in Capital Markets Operations working alongside all CIB Operations team members, including leadership, to identify, escalate, report and assist in resolution of systemic or systematic risks. The role extends into activities surrounding issue management & root cause analysis, training, RCSA management and building out a robust MIS framework including Metrics/Key Risk/Performance Indicators (KRIs/KPI's).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding risks and control gaps across the platform and identifying trends. This requires a working knowledge of processes and products across Capital Markets Operations
  • Assist CIB Operations in creating a culture of timely and transparent escalation and communication
  • Recommending best practice and control remediation for Capital Markets products, process and external risks, including enhancements to existing or new controls to further mitigate risk, including leadership for related projects and remediation work
  • Executing control assessments across APAC CIB Markets Operations. Perform ad-hoc control analysis for teams as required
  • Partnering with senior business leaders both in and out of the organisation to evaluate the control environment
  • Serving as a control consultant for the operations team as issues arise or new processes are implemented
  • Building out a robust regional MIS framework including Metrics/Key Risk/Performance Indicators (KRIs/KPI's).
  • Implementing and managing regional BCP plans
  • Managing the regional CIB Operations SLA Outsourcing footprint/structure
  • Managing the APAC Operations transfer pricing/cost allocations through Activity Based Costing analysis
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in Capital Markets middle office, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:

Possess a proven ability to work in creating efficient and effective processes and controls with a goal to minimize systemic and systematic risks.

The individual will need to be able to demonstrate:
  • Ability to work independently, a self starter
  • Exceptional communication skills and business writing skills including the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
  • The ability to rally a matrixed team and peers to capture required information in sometimes aggressive deadlines
  • Have an excellent knowledge of Capital Markets products and related experience in both a derivatives and cash products
  • Excellent Risk and Control mindset and experience working in a controls/operational risk capacity.
  • Very organized and ability to prioritize workload
