About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking talent to join the 2022 EMEA University Programme in WFBI FIG ( Financial Institutions Group) in Frankfurt, Germany.

Programme Overview:

For WFBI FIG, the selected participant will work closely with experienced team members as they gain skills in FI relationship coverage, AML/KYC compliance, Global Payments and FI credit underwriting. As such, there would be 4 rotations of 6 mos each envisaged across these 4 areas:
  • Relationship Management support (either supporting Senior RM for German market or based in Dublin supporting Senior RM in Ireland)
  • Global Treasury Management - A core product for the FIG business in Europe is related to payment services we offer bank customers. Dedicated support of client needs in payments products, working with Client Consultant in Frankfurt
  • Portfolio Management & Underwriting - Gain experience in how to underwrite FI credit, and support PMU team with Europe credit packages
  • Global Relationship Coverage - For complex FIs which we bank in multiple geographies around the globe, the coverage model entails a significant amount of coordination (internal and external) and strategy development/execution for the global relationships we maintain with large banking groups
In this role, you will:
  • Support Senior RM in development and execution of client relationship plans including identifying business opportunities through proactive research, financial information gathering. This also includes
  • Work closely with Regional Risk in supporting RMs to meet ongoing due diligence requirements for clients, including working on Global Compliance Relationship Memos, helping with assessment of the global compliance risks (including participating in client discussions), and documenting those in a timely manner
  • Support RM in working closely with Credit Underwriting and Product Partners to jointly review credit limits required to support business development as part of global annual credit reviews and ad-hoc credit requests, ensuring appropriate return hurdles are met to justify the credit being requested
  • Work with Client Consultant in Treasury Management to support client calling efforts, liaising with product partners to support delivery of product and resolution of any product-related queries
  • Assist in client calling efforts; prepare briefing memos, proposals, call preparation information packs, call reports and write-ups post meeting using appropriate relationship management tools.
Required Qualifications, International:
  • Work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Be a final year undergraduate / graduate student of any degree discipline
  • Have the relevant rights to work in the country you have applied for
  • Be available to work full time throughout Sept 2022 - Sept 2024
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
  • Ability and commitment to provide high quality customer service.
  • Ability to learn systems, product and organizational details quickly.

  • Strong team player but can work independently when necessary.
  • Fluency in one European language in addition to English
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team environment and liaise with multiple offices and teams across the world.
