Senior Corporate Credit Analyst - New York

The role is to provide high quality, market-orientated credit research across a range of issuers, and to communicate this to portfolio managers in a timely and effective manner. The key area of focus will be the global metals & mining sector, which will entail covering 60-70 issuers across developed and emerging markets, and of investment grade and high yield credit quality. The individual will be expected to meet regularly with company management teams, to form good working relationships with them, and to ensure Insight is presented in the best possible light, and to develop, maintain and leverage relationships with sell-side analysts and syndicate desks. The right candidate will also be expected to participate in new business pitches and other client meetings when required.

Role accountabilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute performance to our range of fixed income funds by providing coverage of the global banking & insurance universe, predominantly focused on North American companies.
  • Perform fundamental analysis to evaluate the creditworthiness of an issuer and assess the relative value of its bonds
  • Critically assess ESG and climate risks facing the issuer using Insight's proprietary ratings and tools
  • Build and maintain cashflow models
  • Analyse covenants and capital structures to select individual bonds / issuers for our funds
  • Meet regularly with management teams, which will include a certain number of ESG 'deep dives' each year
  • Participate in a team-orientated structure, working daily with traders, PMs, quant analysts and product specialists


Communication / Collaboration:
  • Participate in regular team meetings and collaborate with analysts and PMs globally
  • Publish internal research notes that express your conviction and recommendations to the investment management team
  • Maintain regular issuer contact, including in-house and external meetings, which may include travel


Knowledge, skills and behaviours required:
  • Degree or equivalent experience, ideally CFA Charter holder
  • 7-10+ years' industry experience
  • Previous coverage of US Banks & Insurance companies
  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with issuer senior management teams, and PMs and analysts at Insight, as well as a broad range of market participants outside of the firm

The Investment Management Division comprises of experienced and specialised investment professionals who Insight's assets under management (AUM).
