About our client
Our client is a professional investment company listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange with a net asset value of approx. EUR 2.0 billion. They invest in listed and non-listed small to large cap companies in Europe, seeking to enhance the value of companies through an entrepreneurial and supportive approach as their majority shareholders are various entrepreneurial families.
If you are a self-motivated professional with great modelling skills as well as exceptional commercial sense and enjoy working in a small, transparent and entrepreneurial team, with a flat organisation structure, this is the opportunity for you.
What the job involves
  • Engage in active screening to identify relevant target companies
  • Conduct full company due diligence with a private equity-like approach, including management meetings, on site visits, etc.
  • Set-up detailed financial models and carry out company valuations
  • Prepare investment reports and presentations for the decision-making process
  • Take an active ownership view and work with industry experts and management teams to identify and implement value-creating change measures
  • Continuously monitor portfolio companies, peers and the industry in general
  • Build and maintain a network to sell-side analysts, other shareholders and relevant industry experts as well as to advisors
Who we are looking for
  • University degree, ideally in economics, business administration or finance. CFA studies ongoing or completed would be advantageous
  • Several years of experience gained in strategy consulting, investment banking, the Big 4 or an investment firm
  • Genuine interest in active ownership of companies from the perspective of a business owner rather than an institutional passive investor
  • Ability to gather information from various sources and draw conclusions on the investment case and valuation
  • Knowledge of financial statements and forecasting, and different methods of company valuation
  • Strong analytical skills with financial modelling experience
  • Highly structured, systematic working style with pronounced problem-solving skills
  • Sound commercial judgment, ideally in combination with fundamental, bottom-up investment experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work independently and in an international environment
  • Passionate about making public market investments
  • Hard-working, willing to dig deep, ready to roll up their sleeves
  • Fluent in English & German, French would be an advantage
