The Senior Product Manager, Investment Advisory and Research will have end-to-end ownership of the investment research of Fixed Income including proposition, positioning and delivery.

Provide subject matter expertise, investment ideas, training and support to Relationship Managers to build awareness of the Banking Wealth Management proposition across the Citi Australia franchise. Develop the Fixed Income business through providing expertise to the front line sales for Citi Australia.

Drive uptake/acquisition of new business and retention of existing business - through transactable ideas, client presentations, seminars other promotional activities.

  • Along with Head of Investments and Sales teams, in charge of developing and growing Fixed Income investments at Citi Wealth Management Australia.
  • Managing business volume as well as revenue growth and investment strategy for Wealth Management products via enabling enriched customer experience and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Act as the Fixed Income reference for Citi Wealth Management Australia
  • Collaborate with Investment Strategists and the sales force to translate Citi's research insights into actionable FI and MF investment opportunities for clients.
  • Leverage local, regional and global expertise to identify targeted investment ideas and products.
  • Ensure the regional Fixed Income Investment Strategy is relayed and adapted to local market: Distil and simplify the message to meet Citi Australia clients' specific needs, explain Macro rates views and Fixed Income market drivers, and leverage Fixed Income investment opportunities in a concise manner to facilitate Relationship Managers' Sales process. Ensure investment opportunities are communicated (via Relationship Managers) to clients through cohesive, consistent and easy-to-understand messages.
  • Analyse domestic market drivers and technicals, identify and develop potential investment opportunities.
  • Provide expert Relationship Managers, Investment Specialists and clients with in-depth credit analysis and market analysis.
  • Conduct Fixed Income/Macro Rates markets presentations in the weekly investment meetings.
  • Develop innovative Fixed Income value proposition tools to facilitate market penetration for the sales force and ensure Product Investment Strategy translates in actual higher engagement and actual transactions.
  • Write up and pitch new issues to ensure a fast-to-market access for investors and generate trade ideas/tactical calls based on local portfolios.
  • Share Citi's thought leadership and increase visibility of Citi's capabilities in Fixed Income: write articles for local press, conduct interviews. Expert speaker at regular client seminars and other client facing events.
  • Assist Relationship Managers to identify new customer acquisition opportunities and existing client growth opportunities, within their portfolios
  • Joint customer meetings (either in person or via telephone conference) with Relationship Managers, to provide expertise, support and to increase the chance of closing sales
  • Build solid working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve expected results

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Postgraduate degree / CFA (or progress working towards the charter) preferable
  • RG 146 qualified

  • 10+ years' experience in an asset management or financial management company in an fixed income analytical or sales position
  • Strong understanding of Fixed income products and market drivers.
  • Strong knowledge of global markets, domestic and leading global bond issuers.
  • Strong research and writing skills. Ability to breakdown and communicate technical/complex concepts to a broader audience
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Good knowledge of the retail investment and financial planning industries
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Solid understanding of industry legislative and compliance regime
  • Highly motivated and results driven
  • Good business acumen and strong understanding of the sales process
  • Drive and ability to lead/influence others to meet business objectives
  • Collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks

Please note that Citi has entered into an agreement with NAB to acquire its consumer bank in Australia which includes residential mortgages, deposits, and unsecured lending.

The sale is expected to complete in May 2022.

As this is a role to work in Citi's consumer bank, the successful candidate will be employed and onboarded by NAB, the new entity that will employ Citi's consumer bank employees.
