The Personal Banker role is phone based and works as part of a team focused on growing our wealth management and mortgage businesses. The successful candidate would manage a portfolio of Citigold clients by being their main point of contact for all mortgage and cash solutions including foreign exchange. Whilst also on-boarding new clients and drive investment and mortgage referrals via various channels such as inbound and outbound calls, online enquiries and marketing initiatives.

This is an entry level role that will provide exposure across multiple segments of the bank. Those looking to pursue careers within Mortgages or Wealth Management will find it particularly advantageous

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Understand the needs of clients and provide exceptional levels of service
  • Assist clients in mortgage acquisition and retention
  • Identify and refer potential Citigold and Select Wholesale clients through term deposit and investment enquiries
  • Engage the support of specialists to provide technical expert when necessary
  • Take full ownership of customer requests and proactively follow up agreed actions with stakeholders
  • Take responsibility for resolving issues with customer portfolios ensuring complete satisfaction of problem resolution
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strong referral relationships both internally and externally.
  • Keep up to date with new banking products and services; their features, benefits and how these can be best offered to existing and potential Citigold and Select clients
  • Keep up to date with financial markets and Citibank investment structures
  • Meet and exceed assigned activity and sales targets
  • Actively contact existing clients for term deposit maturities for retention as well as identify Wholesale clients
  • Comply with established bank and external policies and procedures to ensure the confidentiality and security of bank and client assets and information
  • Maintain a high standard of accurate and error free work to avoid compliance breaches, including reduction and minimizing critical errors and write offs
  • Maintain a high standard of ethical conduct at all times
  • Action day-to-day operational and administrative tasks as assigned
  • Contribute to Retail Distribution operational efficiencies to enable Retail Distribution to achieve plan
  • Provide constructive feedback and innovations to team discussion
  • Ability to build and develop relationships both within the immediate team as well as other teams in Wealth Management


QUALIFICATION

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Understanding or willingness to learn mortgage processes and internal credit policy
  • Completed or desire to complete ADFP and/or financial qualifications
  • Previous work experience in banking is highly desirable but not required
  • Passion for financial markets and Interest in pursuing a career in wealth management
  • Previous experience with phone sales and/or customer centric roles highly regarded
  • Passionate and hungry individuals who strive in a competitive environment
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to achieve personal goals
  • Strong Communication skills with ability to explain Citi Value proposition
  • Willingness to understand and embrace new initiatives and strategies
  • Good negotiation, persuasive, and problem resolution skills


Citi has entered into an agreement with NAB to acquire its consumer bank in Australia which includes residential mortgages, deposits, and unsecured lending.

The sale is expected to complete in March 2022. As this is a role to work in Citi's consumer bank, the successful candidate will initially be employed by Citi, but on sale completion, their employment will transfer to a NAB (or) a new entity that will employ Citi's consumer bank employees, prior to their transfer to NAB.
