Redstone Commodity Search are working with a large multinational financial services company looking for an experienced operations manager to join their New York office.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders as well as coordinating with an outsourced operational team to ensure smooth operations and an exemplary level of efficiency
  • Manage client and firm accounts including escalation. Ensuring effective communication of operational management principles to relevant internal parties and clients, escalating issues to direct manager as appropriate
  • Responsible for daily procedure ensuring adherence to best practice and regulatory compliance (including the practical application of portfolio margin) as well as engaging with team in the formulation of procedural and systemic improvements as needed
  • Reporting any settlement issues on a daily basis to relevant stakeholders as well as the production of more general daily and periodic operations reports. On top of this help develop initiatives to aid the local business and wider management in more effective decision making (E.g. liquidity optimisation, cross-product risk, and margining)
  • Reports into the commercial manager

Key Qualifications / Experience
  • Around 10 years of experience working in operations dealing closely with Equities and/or Fixed Income, and Options.
  • In depth knowledge of financial markets from an institutional or brokerage perspective and having dealt with either trading or operations
  • The ability to maintain composure and be level headed in a crisis is essential as is the ability to forge strong working relationships and communicate effectively with all stakeholders as well solid Microsoft Office experience, particularly VBA in Excel and Ideally good experience of Python, Matlab, C+, and SQL.
  • Detail oriented having a strong understanding of the internal controls and procedure in a business working within the financial markets
  • Role to be based in New York
