This role will focus on using macro economic data, central bank policy framework & actions and broader market information (pricing and positioning) to inform views on G10 and major EM fixed income markets.

The fund we are working with are a high performing macro fund that take a sophisticated and holistic approach. Research plays a central role within their investment process and so this team is highly visible and valued. They are looking for a high calibre candidate who can generate high conviction trade ideas in G10 fixed income markets. Of particular interest will be candidates who are already at a hedge fund, or who are in a sell side fixed income strategy team that focuses on hedge fund clients. Also, of interest will be candidates coming from a Central Bank background as a big part of the focus will be generating trade ideas around Central Bank policies.

Due to the meritocratic of the fund there is an open mindedness around the specifics of the fit, but they would expect someone to have 2-3 years' experience in a fixed income strategy role on either the buyside or sell side. The candidate should have familiarity with basics of interest rate products including government bonds, interest rate swaps, interest rate options, short-term interest rate futures etc. They should also be proficient with basic statistical techniques such as correlation, linear regressions, PCA.. This should be combined with the ability and desire to think about markets in a non-deterministic way. Strong ability to synthesise differing viewpoints and analyses including views from other analysts to arrive at actionable trade ideas while accepting that the conclusion cannot be deterministic.

Key Requirements
  • 2-3 years experience as a Fixed Income (Rates) strategist. This experience will come at a leading Hedge Fund, a sell side strategy desk with big Hedge Fund client base, or at a Central Bank.
  • Strong academic background from globally renowned University
  • Ability to generate high quality trades ideas in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills
