My client is an iconic Australian brand with a long established and respected history and an instantly recognisable brand. They are an industry leader in more than one area and have established and built a diverse array of successful businesses in multiple sectors. Most importantly, the firm is dedicated to giving back and creating value for the people, communities and the environment by working towards a better, brighter shared future. As an employer, they have a unique, high performing and collaborative corporate culture and an experienced leadership team that embraces individual thinking and creativity.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager - Investments, this an exciting and varied role that will see you drive growth and innovation in areas both new and established for the firm. Working as a part of a small but highly effective team, your key areas of responsibility will include:

• Evaluate and develop recommendations on new market opportunities

• Source and analyse potential M&A and strategic alliance opportunities which are aligned with the firm's Group strategy

• Effectively lead transaction negotiations and all aspects of transaction execution

• Lead due diligence processes and coordinate internal and external workstreams to ensure due diligence, execution and integration activities are robust

• Prepare and review business cases and develop Board papers

• Plan the integrations of acquisition into the broader group

• Pro-actively develop relationships with a wide variety of companies, shareholders and industry contacts to help the firm be on the front foot of emerging trends and issues that may lead to new opportunities

• Build strong relationships with finance, strategy, investments, legal teams and commercial counterparts in business units to ensure smooth transaction execution

• Build, manage and develop Corporate Development team members

Successful candidates will likely have ~7-15 years' experience in investment banking/corporate advisory, private capital or corporate development/in-house M&A. We will also look to target candidates who bring experience from quality renewable energy/green investment groups. Candidates will have a proven track record of deal execution and will have first class interpersonal and relationship management skills as well as the ability to influence stakeholders and set direction on strategic projects. We will aim to identify individuals who are comfortable navigating ambiguity and bring a demonstrated entrepreneurial flair and natural curiosity.

Applicants must have full working rights in place for Australia to be considered for this opportunity.
