Execution Consulting and Trading Research have become an integral part of the services being offered to clients and are ingrained in the coverage model at Instinet. The Execution Consulting and Trading research team is a front office group that administrates a number of key roles spanning from: (1) index research, (2) microstructure research, (3) algo performance monitoring and (4) client transaction cost analysis services (5) customized trading reports for clients. We're currently looking for an individual to join the team with a focus on trading consultation, market micro structure, trading research, and direct client consultations with a quantitative background.

Responsibilities:
  • Client consultation with respect to trading practices
  • Production of Trading research materials and microstructure research reports
  • Work closely with Execution Services teams to provide analysis on client flows as well as consultation and dialog around these flows directly with clients
  • Apply data science principles to analyze and improve trading performance for clients
  • Produce customized trading reports both internally and directly for clients on given strategies
  • Work alongside Index Research to develop strong knowledge of index methodology (FTSE, MSCI, Hang Seng)
  • Research expected index changes, upcoming corporate actions, and major index rebalances

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Asian cash equity markets and the underlying market micro structure
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with excellent command of the English language
  • Team player who is eager to learn and thrives in a fast moving, client driven research environment
  • Highly self-motivated individual
  • General knowledge or capability to understand Algorithmic Trading minutia
  • Programming experience ideally in R, preferably based on the "tidyverse" approach and philosophy, or VBA, SQL, SAS, SQLite, KDB
  • Well-rounded data scientist who can bring programming/dba/analytical skills to the role
  • Experience with large-scale data analysis.
  • Degree or background in a scientific discipline e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Machine Learning or Computer Science.
