Senior Oracle Developer required by large Investment Bank, based in London (Flexible/Hybrid Remote Working) to work within the Trade Management Technology team in London. This is an hands on developer position where you would be expected to work on enhancements to the OTC Derivatives trade database housing Rates, Credit and Equity Derivatives trades, to support various business, regulatory and compliance initiatives.
You will work closely with Front-end and middle-tier developers to deliver F2B solutions for Front Office and Trade management.
You will have recent and extensive Investment Banking experience, as a Database Developer coupled with:

Senior Oracle Developer required by large Investment Bank, based in London (Flexible/Hybrid Remote Working) to work within the Trade Management Technology team in London. You will have recent and extensive Investment Banking experience, as a Database Developer coupled with:
- Proven experience of at least 10 years of experience with Unix/Shell/Perl programming and in working with Oracle DB using PL-SQL
- Very good communication skills is paramount. Being able to communicate optimally both verbally and in written form with traders and users at various levels is very important
SQL
- Write efficient SQL for simple and complex queries
- Constructing efficient SQL for Reporting and Data Extracts
- Understanding SQL best practices
- Using analytical functions.
- Understanding fundamental SQL concepts (case, unions, joins, etc).
DATABASE PROGRAMMING
- Understanding best practices for database coding.
- Writing, reviewing and testing of high quality structured modular code using PL/SQL (Oracle). Code can be PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, etc.
- Management of source code repository (GIT) and Database version control.
PERFORMANCE TUNING
- Understanding and applying good database design principles to ensure high performance.
- Tuning oracle data access -SQL tuning, indexes, explain plans, hints, cost-based optimizers, stats, I/O performance.
- Tuning external environment -CPU, memory, using oracle AWR and STATSPACK for analysis.
Desired Skills
LINUX/UNIX
- Developing shell scripts (korn, bourne, etc.) on UNIX workstations.
- Understanding the UNIX kernel and unix commands, using unix editors.
