You are joining an experienced team of European equity fund managers and analysts consisting of 12 Senior Specialists having amply demonstrated their ability to achieve solid performances on European equities (on average,15 years' experience).

We have nearly €10 billion of assets under management, invested in 'long only' equity funds. Our philosophy aims to create a high alpha based on deep convictions.

We also believe that an excellent working atmosphere contributes to the stability of our team.

Mission

The Equity analyst will be assisting the senior financial analyst in covering the financial sector. This means following the newsflow on the sector, developing the valuation models on the companies covered (analysis of the financial results and balance sheets), assisting the senior FA in order to assess the individual risks of each company and keeping track of the increasing regulation burden on the sector. In addition, she / he will gradually become responsible to find new investment ideas, she/he will be responsible for analyzing and valuing financial companies (banks, insurance or diversified financials).

She/He will take part in the investment decision process for different core strategies, amongst the best in Europe.

She/He will be responsible for the performance of his coverage.

She/He will be an active member of the Fundamental European Equity investment team of Candriam

Responsabilities
  • Analysing companies in different sectors (except Financial)
  • Developing and updating valuation models applicable to companies (DCF, DDM, EVA)
  • Verifying the financial accounting from a critical perspective
  • Monitoring investments
  • Meeting the senior management of companies in which we invest (this may mean regular travels in Europe)

Profile
  • Graduate in Finance, Business or Mathematics
  • At least 5 years of experience as a financial analyst or two years in the financial department of a financial institution (public or private)
  • Fluent in English and French. Dutch is a supplementary asset.
  • Familiar with the Office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Analytical and synthetic skills
  • Critical mind
