Technology and Operations is responsible for the development of the firm's operating infrastructure to support BlackRock's investment businesses worldwide.

This role is based in BlackRock's Wilmington, Delaware location. The successful candidate will be part of Transfer Agency Service ("TAS"), a global team supporting U.S. based mutual funds, money markets and registered alternative funds. The role is multi-functional with responsibility for collaborating with various teams across BlackRock to support the full life cycle of the funds including supporting the build out of an operating model specific to registered alternative funds. Additional responsibilities entail working closely with our transfer agent providers to ensure data integrity of shareholder trades and supporting the Portfolio Managers in understanding their day-to-day cash flows.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with BlackRock technology teams to build scalable solutions and efficiently support new business opportunities in the registered alternatives space
  • Utilize automation tools to create reporting and streamline operational functions
  • Enhance current operating procedures to increase controls to mitigate risk
  • Oversee data flows from TAS service providers to ensure data integrity across BlackRock infrastructure
  • Vendor relationship manager for TAS providers responsible for the resolution of operational inquiries and issues, while proposing solutions to address emerging trends
  • Coordinate across the Firm to support fund launches, transitions and terminations and ensure that actions are being executed accurately at the Transfer Agent
  • Validate and accurately communicate large trade notifications to Portfolio Managers, including input and/or removal of large trades in the Aladdin Dashboard
  • Analyze invoices for accurate and timely payments to vendors, while identifying trends and proposing areas for possible cost savings
  • Review prospectuses and annual reports to ensure accuracy and provide direction on operational and transfer agent related information
  • Compile and review of reporting needed to satisfy regulatory requirements, internal client inquiries and performance calculations
  • Craft and update written procedures
  • Other tasks as assigned


Skills/Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years, mutual fund or alternative fund operations experience and knowledge of transfer agency operations
  • Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify problems and develop solutions
  • Acute attention to detail, understanding of downstream processes and the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrate an affinity for teamwork and collaboration
  • Proficient Excel skills
  • Investment company and financial reporting experience a plus
  • Strong reconciliation skills a plus
  • Experience / Proficiency with Robotic Processing Automation strongly preferred
