Assistant Vice President, Infrastructure Finance

About the Role

The Infrastructure Finance team is seeking a highly motivated individual, preferably with five to seven years of expertise in Infrastructure Finance credit analysis, to join its team of analysts in Toronto as an Assistant Vice President. Working closely with the Managing Director and the other members of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing financial statement analysis, use financial models, draft reports including compilation of rating committee materials, press releases and rating reports and have a well-developed understanding of the overall credit analysis process. The Candidate will primarily focus on infrastructure mandates (PPPs, toll roads, airports, ports, utilities) as well as projects in the power and energy-related sectors.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with covering the existing Infrastructure Finance ratings credits and participating in client meetings.
• Build on existing knowledge of the industry and further expand the network.
• Contribute to new rating assignments.
• Produce timely, high-quality credit reports, research notes and commentaries on rated entities.
• Manage extensive spreadsheets on rated entities.
• Build and maintain relationships with fixed income investors.
• Contribute to the refinement of research products and rating approaches.

Qualifications

• Experience in reviewing financing agreements and legal contracts from a credit point of view
• Five to seven years of business experience, with a minimum of three years experience related to Infrastructure Finance.
• Degree in business, economics, commerce, engineering or a related discipline.
• Solid research, analytical and financial modelling skills, with a high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Self-starter and strong team player, with a constant sense of urgency and a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• General project finance experience in related industries is an asset.
• Communication skills in Spanish, Italian and French are assets.
• Completion of, or demonstrated progress towards, the CFA program is preferred.
