Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve complex investment and fund-level models, ensuring accuracy
- Provide analysis to drive strategic decision making in areas such as portfolio composition, financing/capital structure, operational performance, and growth/exit opportunities
- Partner closely with Asset Management, Investor Relations, and Financial Planning & Analysis to facilitate investment decision making and operational processes
- Prepare financial performance packages on portfolio progression (operational variance analysis including actual vs estimates, portfolio vs platform, platform vs peers)
- Articulate economic impact of revenue, expense, and cost of capital within SFR
- Develop detailed understanding for assigned portfolio strategies
- Validate accuracy of reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, or Finance, CPA or CFA a plus (complete or in progress)
- 1 - 4 years of experience in corporate finance/private equity/investment management, with prior exposure to real estate preferred
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills (Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI skills a plus)
- Knowledge of business modeling in Excel
- High standards of accuracy and precision; strong attention to detail; highly organized
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal, quantitative, and written communication skills required
- Ability to work effectively under tight time constraints, and multi-task on various projects
- Familiar with, or can quickly become familiar with, the company’s operations and strategy
- High potential individual, able to rise within the portfolio management organization
- Knowledge of reporting in Tableau and SQL/database structures a plus
- Experience with structured ERP systems (Adaptive, Anaplan, etc.) a plus
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team setting, managing deliverables across a number of different stakeholders
