Our client is an entrepreneurial private equity vehicle, operating in the niche of engineering services. The firm is pursuing a strategy of roll-ups of services firms. It is part of a family of similar buy & build vehicles covering a number of sectors in Germany, established over the course of the last 25 years. The track record of realized investments has been strong. The standard model is to consolidate fragmented markets through acquisition and integration, seeking critical mass and a successful exit.
Now in the process of making their first acquisitions, the management of the firm is now looking to support the further professionalization of the business by hiring a Finance Director to set up, lead and professionalise the controlling function. You will report to and work closely with the firm's joint CEOs. The position will be based in Munich.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setting-up and leading a highly efficient finance function
• Implementing and optimizing best-in-class management information systems and KPIs
• Preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements
• Budget planning and forecasting
• Reporting financial results to the management board and the shareholders as well as preparing ad-hoc analyses
• Cash flow and working capital management
• Continuous optimization of internal structures and processes in order to create and ensure transparency
• Manage contracts, legal and personnel administration
• Support M&A transactions, in particular post-merger integration of the newly acquired business
• Main point of contact for the shareholder, banks, auditors, and external service providers

YOUR PROFILE

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines
• Significant relevant track record in an operational finance leadership position, ideally paired with initial experience in the audit / tax department of a professional services firm
• Previous experience setting up finance structures and processes is a big plus
• Knowledgeable on preparing financial statements
• Good accounting know-how
• Strong analytical skills and an affinity with numbers
• Experience working with a Private Equity firm would be beneficial, though not a must
• Previous experience with post-merger integrations is an advantage, but not a requirement
• Pro-active and entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on mentality, driven to excel in a dynamic set-up
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Native German and fluency in English is required
