ABOUT OUR ROLES IN SALES STRATS

Working side by side with the firm's trading, sales and investment management professionals, our quantitative and technical professionals use their training to devise trading strategies, advise clients on transactions, develop analytical market tools, and model diverse market scenarios. As a front office Macro Sales Strat, you'll have the opportunity to work very closely with sales its sales and trading across FX, rates and credit. Based on financial market dynamics, you will use quantitative skills to provide scalable and efficient solutions and risk analytics to both internal teams and external clients.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates will have the opportunity to utilise their technical backgound in a range of market functions across a variety of asset classes to meet our clients needs. Utilising established development tools alongside proprietary technology, candidates will develop tools and analyse data based on topical market activity, and present this to clients and internal sales, trading and financing teams. We look for creative collaborators with a strong quantitative background and intellectual curiosity who will thrive in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Collaborate in cross-divisional teams to bring innovative multi-functional solutions to our clients under our "One-GS" innitiative.
  • Identify and champion the development of trade ideas based on market development and client needs; producing statistical justification, pitching to clients, and optimising market implementation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of financial products and markets to initiate and advise clients on innovative ways to implement their views.
  • Manage, visualise, and analyse financial data sets to identify market opportunities and manage trading or financing risks.
  • Develop and distribute automated market analysis publications across internal teams and our client base.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
A core requirement of this role is to be able to closely tie a technical skillset to furthering the financial interests of Goldman Sachs and its clients, and we are hence seeking candidates which can demonstrate and want to further advance a hybrid skillset between their technical background and finance.
  • A keen interest and/or experience in analysing and/or trading in financial markets.
  • A technical background or skill set in Finance, Computer Science, Applied Maths, Statistics, Engineering, or similar field.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with elegant solutions, and to articulate those to any audience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In this role candidates will be able and required to rapidly develop knowledge about financial market operations, and the neccessary skillset to be a technical finance professional. Whilst not required, relevant pre-existing experience should be highlighted as evidence of a candidates interest in the space.
  • Some programming experience which can be leveraged in technical tasks and to learn Goldman Sach's proprietary programming and risk management platform
  • Finance-related qualification at University or other financial experience
  • Understanding of any time series analysis, statistics, data mining, numerical analysis techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills, drive and ownership
  • 1-2 years of finance experience
