Responsible for providing project and system support for Columbia Threadneedle Investments enterprise data assets, including security master, product master, party master, account master, index master, positions, transactions, trades, analytics, and other data widely used within the company or sent to clients, websites, or other external partners. Our team supports various applications and data stores including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Profisee, Markit EDM, GoldenSource, Oracle, and SQL Server. Project and change support includes analysis, writing requirements, mapping data from source to target systems, influencing and approving design, testing, conversion and implementation. We work very closely with our technology partners in an Agile scrum framework focused on delivering iterative change for business value.

Our role is to acquire and curate high quality, governed data to make it more easily consumable and reliable by the organization. Our team is core to the data strategy of Columbia Threadneedle Investments.


  • Provide input into and guide business partners on their requirements to determining the best solutions for their specific needs.
  • Ensure that all requirements, mapping and stories are well-documented so that technology and testing partners have the necessary information to design, build, and test solutions.
  • Ability to provide accurate, timely & responsive services to our business partners.
  • Create test cases for expected results, perform testing, and review results
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine and complex problems
  • Provide maintenance of the data via requests, exceptions, and inquiries

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to learn, understand and apply technology as it relates to the business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a high level of clarity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Open-minded to new or challenging ideas
  • Ability to work across regions and cultures within US, Europe, and Asia

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good understanding of the asset management industry, especially knowing the difference between equities and bonds
  • Master data management experience
  • Understands/supports agile methodologies
  • Experience working cross-organizationally with both business and technology groups
  • Experience with database structures and SQL querying knowledge
  • Experience documenting interfaces, requirements/stories, and test cases
