Position Description

Position requires an experienced professional with institutional client service and relationship management skills that can fulfill assignments and meet responsibilities without extensive up front training requirements.

We have particular interest in meeting individuals with a good working knowledge of the capital markets, fixed income in particular, and good familiarity with institutional relationship management/client service functions. Quantitative proficiency including the use of common software tools as well as strong communication skills both oral and written are essential. Added preference will be given to candidates with a background in fixed income, those with a prior history of working with asset management clients and those who have attained or are studying towards their CFA or CAIA. Attention to detail as well as a positive, team-player attitude is critical to success.

This position will provide the candidate with a diverse set of responsibilities related to in-house and in some cases external client service functions. This will include not only assisting our institutional clients in day to day report generation and responding to ad hoc requests but also developing a sound understanding of our clients' investments goals and objectives and how our investment capabilities may be of value to their respective portfolios. The opportunity requires a mature, articulate professional that will interface between clients, product specialists and investment professionals.

For this fast-paced, deadline driven position, timeliness and a great amount of flexibility is required by someone who enjoys working independently while valuing the benefits of being part of a true team effort.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in Investment Advisory environment (preferably in fixed income asset management);
  • Proven ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines, independently determining order of priority and self-initiating other value-added tasks;
  • Experience in working with particularly the German KVGs but also other institutional investors across Europe (particularly Nordics, Netherlands, UK)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and ideally another language (German or Nordic language skills are a bonus)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of software applications in general, such as index-provider databases, Factset, Bloomberg, and eVestment
  • Understanding of performance reporting, risk measures, and portfolio characteristics
  • Highly resourceful; ability to exercise superior judgment regarding investor requests;
  • Ability to interact with internal and external clients;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to quickly build credibility and gain confidence of others; and
  • Team-oriented with strong integrity and professionalism.
