An opportunity has arisen for an Associate Analyst to join M&G's Corporate Credit Research team. The team, one of the largest and most experienced credit research teams in Europe, provides independent, actionable insights to fund managers in order to aid portfolio construction.
An Associate Analyst in the Corporate Credit Research team plays a key role on corporate coverage alongside our Senior Analysts, whilst also developing their own primary analyst skills over time.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting senior analysts in the coverage of their sector on a daily basis
  • Undertaking specific credit work and sector work under the supervision of a Senior Analyst
  • Assisting the senior analyst in their monitoring responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining corporate and sectoral financial models
  • Updating and monitoring the M&G proprietary ESG scorecard for companies covered by their team
  • Providing back up to other analysts within both their analyst group ('pod') and the broader team.
  • Playing a key role in the corporate action process
  • Building and maintaining working relationships with key stakeholders from across the business, including fund management teams
  • Developing primary analyst skills over time, with the potential to take on responsibility for a small sector or sub-sector themselves
  • Representing their team in strategic projects within Investments

  • Proven numerical skills, analytical curiosity and rigorous attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication/presentation skills with a strong command of the English language (verbal and written skills).
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk Analysis and the public Rating Agency process would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of public debt instruments
  • Strong in Excel and ideally proficient in Bloomberg. BQuant/VBA skills would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of ESG and financial-sector Compliance is welcome
  • Interested in global economic and political events

Experience
  • Strong academic track record
  • Previous experience working with Credit Analysis, Fixed Income or Accounting
  • Progression towards the CFA or Accountancy qualifications desirable
