We are seeking to hire an Investment Analyst to join our research team in The Woodlands, TX. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include company and industry data collection and trend analysis, financial statement analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, assessment for business and financial strategy and monitoring market movements. Your research will be fast-paced and demanding. We seek candidates who possess strong accounting, finance, quantitative, and business writing/communications skills. Financial modelling, forecasting and valuation experience will be a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain research on leveraged credit securities and issuers focusing on fundamental, technical, relative value, debt capital structure and overall credit worthiness
- Build financial models/valuation analysis and prepare written investment documents
- Review credit agreements/indentures to articulate structural strengths/weaknesses
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with company management teams and external research
- Monitor performance of existing investments to identify opportunities/risks
- Stay current on industry news, trends, and risks within assigned coverage areas
- Provide relevant, frequent, and timely updates to the investment team
- Generate new investment recommendations to the investment team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields
- 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, investment research, or financial analysis
- Strong financial acumen and financial modeling skills
- Highly organized, ability to multi-task and think creatively in a small team environment
- Strong independent, critical thinking and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Interest in completion of Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) designation a plus
